Point: A specific location on the body where activations are performed. "Point" used in this way implies the outside of the body. The actual doorway we are opening is on the interior of the body, underneath the point. These correspond more-or-less to the Chinese meridians in location, but are used a little differently
Doorway: A place on the body where the body's emotional content is more readily reachable. Located on the interior of the body, where there muscular and fascial tissue joins with the skeleton, beneath a point.
Activation: A movement performed on a point that combined with breath that is used to encourage the doorway to open.
Integration: A period between activations where a point is held with an open hand. This period allows the body to recover after a shift. Sometimes the feeling of comfort allow for additional shifts to occur.
Shift: When emotions and blocked energy leave the body. Can look like tears and sobbing if we are dealing with sadness and grief. Can look like yelling and kicking if we are dealing with anger. Sometimes it is more subtle, for example sweating and redness of the skin. Every body is different and can respond differently depending on what is being release. Each kind of shift is exciting because it mean it's working!
